Designing a tool that brokers mRNA designers & manufacturers

The completed work was for a medtech company who's revolutionizing precision medicine by fast-tracking its development and delivery through an functional B2B application. I had the exciting opportunity to craft both the user experience and interface, shaping a product that empowers the future of healthcare.

State Changes and Messaging
Beyond refining the visual design, we also had to design for state, ensuring a seamless experience across various process flows. A major focus was the order state, the central thread connecting all three user roles. Messaging played a crucial role in this, requiring us to carefully track and reflect state changes—whether through an email, a label update, or even a subtle button adjustment. By aligning these elements, we created an intuitive system that kept users informed and in sync every step of the way.

Reusable Componentry
A large part of the application was built around reusable components—inputs, alerts, and other essential UI elements you'd expect in a well-structured design system. To streamline development, we leveraged Vuetify, a powerful Vue.js component library inspired by Material UI. Thanks to the project's modular nature, we crafted a robust library of reusable building blocks, seamlessly integrating them in both Figma and code for a cohesive and efficient design system.

Designing for Service Integration
This project integrated multiple third-party services to handle authentication, email delivery, and data visualization. Each of these services came with its own set of constraints and technical requirements, which meant that designing within these boundaries required a deep understanding of their capabilities and limitations. My role involved not only ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience, but also aligning the design with the functional expectations of these integrations. Balancing aesthetics, usability, and technical feasibility was key to creating a cohesive and high-performing solution that worked seamlessly across the entire platform.
