Rebranding a medical device company

Forest is a startup medical company that has a (vc-backed) product that can quickly detect strokes in an emergency environment. My role on this project was to establish a new brand that would be rolled out immediately to a new product.

Project Challenges

Branding an emerging idea while creating a medical device category that doesn't exist yet was quite an undertaking. We took on both the rebrand of the parent company while creating a new brand for their amazing, life saving product at the same time. We had the opportunity to do some user testing ahead of the brand work. We attended a national conference in Florida and ran some ideas and visuals by the primary target audience who would be interacting with the brand. Those conversations led us to a better outcome and a more diverse and overall brand — one that responds to both color and context.

Project Wins

This was my first time executing a responsive brand idea, one that not only has a responsive logo, but a responsive, accessible color scheme. Seeing a brand you created come to life and live in the world sure is something great. Being able to play a small part of a life-saving medical instrument is something I will hold onto for the rest of my life.
